    A Holland man was arrested in Huntingburg this morning for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, and a Jasper resident was arrested for drunken driving, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest on Friday afternoon.

    Injuries were reported after a car and an SUV collided Wednesday afternoon at Baden Strasse and Newton Street in Jasper. The fire department in Jasper received notice of three separate alarm activations in the city Wednesday but none of those callouts involved an actual fire.

    The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance as officers investigate an overnight burglary at a city auto shop. Jasper officers also worked a couple of property damage crashes Tuesday, including one involving a motorist suffering from a medical condition in which more than $18,000 in damage was done.

    Injuries were reported after separate accidents Monday evening that involved a Jasper teen rolling a golf cart east of the city and a Martin County man rolling a pickup truck near Haysville. A mortally wounded deer was lying at the side of the road as Jasper police and firefighters responded to a vehicle fire this morning on the city’s south side.

    An Orange County motorcyclist injured this morning when he laid his bike down on a stretch of highway east of Haysville was being transferred to an Evansville hospital for treatment at last report. Arrests Tuesday night included a Hillham-area brother and sister arrested on disorderly conduct and other charges.

    The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department said a teenager escaped injury when she rolled the car she was driving Monday morning south of Jasper. A deputy chalked up a Thursday afternoon collision that totaled two trucks to one of the driver’s nodding off behind the wheel.
